Gryphon Horoscopes

It is said that the first Gryphon was born in the Forest of Rocks, which just happens to be the territory of the Pride of the Hidden Sun- one reason why the Pride has chosen the area they are in. During the Rite of the Self, a young gryphon attunes herself or himself to one of the star-pointing rocks. From then on, the gryphon will be able to mindspeak. Usually, which rock the gryphon finds themself drawn towards depends on her or his personality. A few of the rocks are listed below; however, there are as many rocks as there are constellations in the sky.

Alicorn's Tail: This gryphon is said to be the Memory of the pride. An Alicorn-attuned gryphon can pull from the history of the surrounding area, and tends to remember what he or she is told. Gryphons attuned to the Alicorn's Tail feel the pull of the memories even when not looking for them, and, as a result, are often quiet and thoughtful.

The Pheonix: The Pheonix is a warrior, either physically or in mind, and willing to do anything for a particular cause, even die. This is said to be the sunset rock. Pheonixes are strong willed and quick to judge, but once they make a friend, a Pheonix will do anything to protect that friend.

Dolphin: A gryphon attuned to the dolphin stone is said to be caring and playful. Those attuned to the Dolphin are usually excellent fliers and would rather spend their time in the air then on the ground.

The Southern Star: Also known as the seeking star, this star stays in about the same position year-round. Those gryphons attuned to the Southern star are fated to be wanderers and questioners, always seeking answers in their relentless travel. These gryphons rarely join prides unless the entire pride has no territory, and wander themselves.

Cassandra's Voyage: This constellation forms the shape of a flighted arrow, straight and sharp. Gryphons attuned to the Voyage are logical and forward. They believe their purpose in life is to expose the truth and promote justice. To them, death is preferable to speaking a single lie.

The Lioness: The pack is the way; each gryphon is to stay in their rank. Gryphons attuned to this stone resist change, insisting that the old ways are the best ways. They fear that change will be for the worst in all but the most hideous circumstances: and in that case, they may try to make a pride more traditional in the hope of reuniting them. Gryphons who follow the Lioness often see that the gryphon prides are few and far between, rather then strong as they were long ago.

The Last Pack: This constellation is named in honor of the Final Wolf Pack. There were once many wolves on Savine, but all but one pack dispersed and, presumably, died. The wolves on Savine today are descendants of the sole surviving wolf pack. Those attuned to the Last Pack are survivors; no matter what the circumstances they will do what it takes to survive. Due to the nature of this constellation, many Last Pack gryphon extend this need to survive to their Pride as well.

More will be available as I write them up. Sorry about the limit on the list, but I'm tired of writing!
