Forming a Pride

A pride is a group of 5-8 gryphons. It consists of one leader, an "Alpha", a pride "queen" or "king", a "Beta", and two to five "deltas". The Alpha gryphon may be male or female; if male, the Beta will also be male, and the queen and deltas will be female; if the Alpha is female then the Beta will also be female, and the king and deltas will be male. The Beta is the secondary leader, ranking the same as the queen or king. The deltas are the min body of the pack and rank lower then the Beta in the pride. Gryphons do not pick permanent mates. The Alpha and the pride's king/queen are considered to be mates, but either one can (and often do) seek other partners of the rest of the pride. Gryphons never take a mate from outside of their pride. Gryphons form prides to protect game-rich territory and for purely social reasons. If your Gryphon joins or starts a pride, then he/she may choose to have children or, if he/she prefers, may foster an egg from other pride members. If you wish, each gryphon you own may be in the same pride or each in different prides. If you'd like to form a pride, here are the rules: Your gryphon will need to be the Alpha. Before your group will be officially declared a pride, you must find at least 2 other willing gryphons to join, one a Beta and the other the king/queen. Until your pride has at least 5 members, you may not foster an egg from any pairing that doesn't not include your gryphon. Your pride must have a name! You must have a pride page; it can be the one your gryphon is on. On the page you must list all of the members of the pride and their positions. Unless you have at least 5 members, you must include a how to join thing somewhere on the page so that other Gryphons can join your pride. If you'd like to join a pride, here are the rules: Unless your gryphon is the Beta or queen/king, the pride you join must be listed on the Other Prides list. If a pride already has 8 members, you may not join it. Your gryphon will be a Delta, so she/he will have to be of the opposite sex of the Alpha. Also, your gryphon cannot currently be in a pride, nor may he/she switch prides. Alpha Position: Expected to find initail members and maintain the Pride Page. King/Queen: The king/quuen needs to check pride memeber's pages infrequently to make sure that the other members are following the rules and sill exist. Beta: The Beta fills in for the Alpha or the King/Queen if for some reason (vacation, etc) they can, temporarily, not do their duties. Once you've joined or started a pride, mail me the following info to coyolxauhqui@fcmail.com : Your gryphon's name Naming Prides: Prides are generally named after either the territory of the pride (ex: Pride of the Rainbow Mountain) or for some meaningful event in the pride's history (ex: Pride of the Long Winter).
