Dragon:Gold Ilania
8-23-98: Another day spent in the Dream. There, I say a dragon, with a woman riding her back. As they got closer, I could make out the features. The dragon continually changed colors- frst she was a deep shade of green, and then she became red as blood. As she came closer, I could see her changing: beginning with the tips of her wings, she changed into a brilliant shade of gold, and the transition was smooth, as if a strange water had been poured onto her, like a dye. So suprised was I to see a dragon that it was not until she was very close that I saw that the woman riding her looked much like me, only older. That's when I knew I was to search for a dragon egg, and so I have left this Weyr for my search. I will return once I have found the dragon which is to be my bond. 8-23-98: I have found her! As soon as I reached the area, I knew she was the one who was to be my bond. She sits in her egg, waiting to hatch. I believe now that the Dream was showing me possibilities of the future, each different but part of one whole. My dragon will be a brilliant gold, as one of my choices proclaimed. Here is a picture of what i have found in my travels: a perfectly formed dragon egg. 8-26-98: I know I cannot always be here with my dragon, for I must Dream. Should I need to leave, I have found one who will watch over this place and my young dragon. She is still an egg now, and right now I must aid her in her hatching. She will be a minidragon as an adult. Here is she as now, an egg: 8-28-98: I have gathered more items for the horde that will belong to my dragon. Her name will be Ilania as my dream has told me. Also, more sand was needed to secure Ikila, so I have traveled to the gathering-place to gain some. 8-29-98: Ikila has hatched out of her tiny egg. She stays with me everyday now, and has attepted several short flights. I say "attepted" becuase she glides to near the foolr and when she flaps her wings she gains no height. As an adult she will not have this problem, but for now I am content to watch her learn. The golden egg, Ilania, remains unhatched still. I understand that the smaller beings are quicker growing then the larger. If so, Ilika may well be a full adult once Ilania breaks from her shell. 9-7-98: She has come to me. Her skin is the color of the sun, blazing, and her mere presence is enough to light up the room. Through our window I can see the moon shrouded in a red haze as it rises to join its brethren, the stars. It is time, and Ilania and I may learn from one another and grow stong in each other's presence. She has hatched. 9-12-98: One more day spent in the Dream. It is not possible, yet, for me to take either of my dragons into that place, but perhaps eventually this will change. This will tke time and patience, as learning any skill in the Dream does. However, if I am to learn it, then both dragons will be able to follow me if they wish. According to some mages, their familiars cannot go beoynd the space of several realms. I do not know if this will be true for my dragons, but if so, then I must carefully choose which to bring them in, lest they not appear at all. 9-13-98: Four of Illania's brothers ave been forgotten. They have been left on the sands by those who should have picked them up. Illania was silent tday, and for this reason. If you bond with a dragon, do not leave him or her alone. They will live with the knowledge of being left every day of their lives. 9-19-98: Apon awakening I found at my doorstep a suprise. It seems to be an award of some sort, and so I have placed it in my journal. This is my first personalized award. I have rigged it to be a portal to the place which I am led to believe is its origin. 9-22-98: Ikila is an Adult. She watches our porcessions with mosly silence, only now and then uttering the occasional word. She is lovely in her shades of violet. 10-7-98: Illania has grown. She is larger now, enough that she could easily hold me on her back, but I will wait for her to reach adulthood before riding her. Her wings are still soft and untrained and neither I nor Illania is wishing to strain them. Each day she goes on a longer solo flight, testing them. Also, Illania's borthers have all found homes now. Perhaps, soon, Illania and I will visit them. 11-1-98: Illania is now an adult. She cannot enter the dream with me, but I know she sees it through my eyes when I step into that world. Illania's wings are large enough for long flights and she goes out each day. Illania is from Tyrachia; Ikila is from Minidragon Adoptions. |
