Name: Kila 4-29: I've finally tracked down that rider who left me and Tekin to drag our crates all the way from the hot center of the weyr to our quarters. He tells me that he had to keep on Searching. I don't know what makes him think I'd believe they were that desperate for candidates. 5-11: Hey! I've got a sands now....Zodiac Dragon Impressions. I'm not sure what color I'll get...there are four types of eggs, fire, earth, water, and air. Their type is based on the stars, or something like that. I'm not quite sure- I think the stars on their planet must be different then ours; at least the constellations are! After all, we don't have a constellation that looks like a lion, nor one that looks like a scale. We do, however, have a truly magnificent one of a boat. Haven't heard of the legend? It sails through the sky each night because the single person on it, Niram, is looking for his lost love...ah, never mind. I guess you don't know the tale. 5-19: Picked this up today...I think I rather like it. It's from Greyhaven, and it's a Drigus toy. Since I wasn't sure where to stick it in my weyr, I thought I'd place it with my journal. 6-21: Today the empress dragon allowed me to care for an egg. It's purple, with an arrow shaped marking on it. I did a little research at the library on it- it's a Sagittarius egg, but I can't seem to figure out what a centaur is. I realize I may have to do a little more research before I can find that out. Maybe I'll be able to get a little more information on the constellation Sagittarius as well. 8-24: "It (the markings on the egg) has something to do with the constellations on a different world- I think they call it Terra, or Earth, or something like that. I wasn't too clear on it all. Anyway, there are twelve in which to be born under. I'm not quite sure how one decides which they are born under. This particular symbol refers to the constellation of Sagittarius, which is supposed to resemble a 'centaur,' whatever that might be, with a bow. I looked through our dictionaries. We have a bunch, and it took me a while to find the right world. Here's what it said: "Sagittarius. 1: a southern constellation pictured as a centaur shooting an arrow. 2: the 9th sign of the zodiac." Egg hatched today. The hatchling is the same color of the egg. She's cute. I wonder what I should call her. Shinglee?
